Hi thanks for visiting my site. My name is Gary Fletcher and I created this site partly to keep my mind active, and partly to see if it help me make contact with other car lovers worldwide!
I’ve never owned a Ferrari and to be realistic I doubt if I ever will. If I did I would probably wreck it in no time. Back in my teens I was a young ton up kid riding a Norton dominator SS until a head-on smash with a poor guy driving an old van on the East Lancs Road ended my motorcycling days and almost my life! I was saved by a very excellent crash helmet but even so I spent six months with my leg in plaster then another six months having physiotherapy before I could walk again. I don’t want sympathy; it was my own fault and we all knew the risks. It was a different world then; the term ‘snowflake generation’ hadn’t been invented.
I now drive a specially adapted Peugeot Boxer Spirit: I’d much rather have a Testarossa but I would never fit my wheelchair in it! 30 years ago I married a wonderful lady who was my nurse at the time and since then we’ve had three lovely children all of whom I’ve tried to steer away from motorbikes. I haven’t had to try too hard, they much prefer their cars instead! Something that back in the 1960s we simply couldn’t afford which is one of the reasons why I tend to turn off when people talk about the good old days. I remember how Harold Macmillan said ‘we’ve never had it so good’; despite pandemics and crazy American presidents he could say the same again today, quite truthfully.
